Too long way from innovations to everyday medical therapies | Dr. Eszter Tanczos Olver | TEDxDanubia
Medical innovations often get stuck, delayed or do not get implemented as therapies as our regulatory and reimbursement systems are not prepared for the exponential development of new technologies. Cellculture-based cartilage implants for joint cartilage regeneration and for the early treatment of osteoarthritis is one of the examples. Eszter is giving a profound understanding of this technology and its achievements. She also explains the underlaying systemic problems which are slowing down or blocking new technologies to evolve into therapies. The consequences of those systemic problems are alarming: more expensive long term treatments and health economic costs.
